Dress forms

I hope you all enjoyed the Dress Form Blog Hop!!!!!  If you missed it, click on the tag to the right.
I had such a great time making those tags that I joined another Dress Form Swap on the Cricut Message Board.
This time we had to make just the dress form (with out a tag) and a dangle charm to match.  We could pick from different themes. I was all set to do Christmas as my theme and then decided to just make it "Holiday Attire"
I made all the dresses the same but in different colors. I used suede paper, stickles and the Happily Ever After cartridge to cut the dress. (It is Cinderella's) I  used the TH Sewing die for the forms but they were a bit too big so I altered them to fit my dress.
I have 1 more dangle to finish to go with my Black & Silver dress and then I will post that one also.
I have Blue with blue, Red with gold and then Red with silver.  I made matching tags to attach the dangles charms to.

Here are my creations for the 3 groups-- Designer's choice, Fall and TV/Movie Star.

Theme #1 was for Fall/ Thanksgiving so I decided to do an Indian. After doing a sample tag and checking with a friend, I was told it was too FLAT!!! Being a newbie to Dress Form Tags, I figured I'd better listen
So back to the drawing board I went.

Here is my finished  Fall Tag. I used a tag from TBBM cartridge and made it the same size as the TH ones that everyone uses. The dress form was taken from the Nifty Fifities cartridge. I cut 2 each of the dress form and the outfit adhereing them together to add dimension. The dress is made out of suede paper and I added a few beads.  I used my Cuttlebug for the pumpkin, chalked it and used a pop-up glue dot to adhere it to the tag.

The next group I joined was themed TV Shows/Movies, Celebrity etc

For this one, I choose to do the dress that Miley Cyrus wore to the 2009 Oscars. First is a picture of her dress and then my Tag. (I hadn't decided on my ribbon yet)I really like how it came out.. I layered lace for her dress and then added silver stickles to it. I put a band of ribbon and a brad on the waistline On the tag, I printed out an “Oscar” image off the internet and popped it up. On the other side I use some TH film strip. I found out that my ATG doesn't work well on lace. I changed to Fabri-Tac which worked great!!!

Here is my last tag!!! This was for the Designer's Choice category. I choose to make a summer dress and I included a straw hat! I used some leftover material  for the dress and  added pink lace for a belt and straps. I also used the ribbon on the hat and added some tiny pink flowers to both the hat and dress.

So there are my 3 Dress form tags!!! Thanks for joining us!!!

I hope you will come back and check out some of my other projects.

A few layouts using page maps

These layouts were done for the LID Challenge on the MB use page maps.
The top layout I did using a picture that I took years ago. I used a photo program to take out all the color except the ornage on the Monarch. I love the picture and it worked well in the layout.
The background paper on the Alan Jackson layout was printed on my computer. I have a 12X12 printer and I love being able to make any background I want.
The 3rd layout is with some of my daylily pics.  Eventually I'd like to do a layout of each of the color daylilies that I have.

Altered frames

I altered 2 frames which were  for swaps on the Cricut message board.
For the first one, I went with a book and an owl because the person I was making it for loves to read.
I used book pages on the frame itself. I inked and then use crackled over the top. The owl came from a cartridge but can't remember which one!!! I made the book with a few layers of chipboard and use Glossy Accents on it. I added some tiny flowers and some greens (MS punch).

The next frame was beach themed. I painted the frame blue and then used Elmers glue and white paint fof the crackle effect. Very easy to do and the results are super!!! I then added some Aruba beach shells and a net over them. I squirted in a little glue here and there and sprinkled the shells and bottom of the frame with Aruba sand. I added a chair that I had in my stash!!!

New Projects

Boy does time go by fast!!! I haven't posted anything in a couple months!!
This past month finds me making my 1st chunky mini album and my 1st Dangle!!!!
I really had fun making both of these and my partner on the Cricut message board really liked them also.

Here is a picture of the front of my mini.   I used TH fragments for the cover and added the dangle to one of the binding rings. I watched Tim's video on ways to use his fragments and really like how he used paper and Glossy Accents.  Each set of pages had  a different theme and instructions as to making photo mats and pockets. So I have a mini with Nature, Floral, Vintage, Smile &  friends. Here are a few more pictures before I bound it and added the rivets and ribbons.

.I was pretty happy with the final results considering it was my first one!!!!!
