I can't believe how long it has been since  I posted something here on my blog!!!! I actually forget all about it.
So I guess I will post some pictures of what I have been up to since then.  We have been on a few trips, some of which I have done layouts for and others I haven't.
I have made lots of cards, hosted a couple ATC swaps on the Cricut MB, joined a Secret Sister partner swap for Christmas on the board and have bought a new Explore which I am still learning.
I have practiced my Tim Holtz techniques and joined 5 other ladies to make a super calendar using these.
Give me a little while to organize my projects but dates and I PROMISE to be back with lots of pictures and some explanations.


Well it doesn't look like I am going to be able to post pictures right now. Apparently my Browser won't work!!!! It lists the ones IE 9 & 10 but I now have 11.  Not sure what to do.
If I can figure it out, I will be back soon. :(

I have an ATC Challenge Swap going on over at the Cricut message board. Everyone had to pick a theme and 2 materials from a list I supplied. Once everyone did that, I switched them all around and we all ended up making someone else's choices. Should be interesting to see how everyone did. The due date is next week so I will be back to post these for you to see.

I have also been working on completing my Nashville scrapbook pages. I have about 10 layouts to do and I am about half way done. I have some ready to glue down and others still need their papers. I used my book of sketches by Becky Higgins for all of them and it made it so much easier.  Here is a completed one. I printed the  sheet music on 12X12 cream colored paper and then used black mats . I added red to the title and that is it!!!!! No embellishments needed. I didn't think anyway.

I have been going thru some of my crafting supplies and realized that I have over 120 Cricut cartridges!!!!! It also looks like I haven't used about 35 of them!!!! So I am going to give away 5 of them.
They will all have the booklet, the cartridge and the overlay included. Not sure if I have the boxes for them anymore.
This is how it will work. I will have 1 post which will have the  picture of the cartridge that will be given away.
All you have to do is take a look thru my blog and then leave a comment about one of my projects under the picture of the cartridge you would like to have.

On to my TH swap challenge. We had a bunch of directives to follow and we were to use Tim Holtz products and techniques. It was a learning experience for a lot of us that joined in the swap.
I made some mini tags using his Tiny Treaasures stamps which I colored with Distress markers.

I also made a layered canvas frame using stencils, paints, sprays, plastic letters and adornments.

I also made a small binder using TH Worn covers and binder . I love how this came out! I used G45 papers, chunky embossing powders, die cuts, grunge board and filled it with tags and some bookmarks!!!

 

Now for some layouts. 1st one is that river boat ride in Costa Rica that I mentioned earlier and the 2nd one is of some birds we saw at the resort.

Here are a few cards that I have made recently. If anyone would like to know how I made them, feel free to ask. I love how the TH blueprint stamp ones came out!!!

I have been busy crafting away but I have also been on vacation so my blog has suffered!!!

I will add a few pictures from Costa Rica and Aruba for those of you that are stuck in winter!!!! The beach and sunset pics are from Aruba and the wildlife shots were from our river boat trip.

My latest projects were for a Christmas swap on the Cricut message board. We had to make a bunch of different items following some directives. I really enjoyed making all of these and tried to do something different for each. Let me start with my snowflakes. They were made using clock hands and a small circle token. Super easy!!!

Then I made a canvas. I used various TH stencils, paints, glitter, etc. I added a poinsettia that I die cut and added glitter to. I found a saying that I liked and added it on using different types of media.

I then made some note cards using black & white glossy cardstock, Judikins mica gloss paint and a stamp. You put a drop of a few different colors of the paint on white glossy cardstock. Then take another piece of white cardstock and lay it on top. Smooch them around a bit to blend in the colors. Take of the top piece and use these as your paint pallet. Press your stamp into the paint and then onto the black cardstock. I love this filigree type stamp!!!!

I am not the greatest at making mini albums bit I really liked this vertical  paper bag one. I made a Beach themed one and though that Christmas would be a great one also. It has about 80 spots for photos, journaling or whatever you want. I added more pockets, tags, and spots to use. There are lots of steps and it is very time consuming but I love how they both came out!!!! Here is a picture of the outside and another of the inside showing all of the pages.

 

I made a couple tags also. One is using an embossing folder with  Distress paint, inks and heat embossing. The other is using fragments. Both are using Tim Holtz ideas and materials.

Okay, 1 more and I am done for today!!!! This is one of my all time favorite projects. It is right up there with Silas. LOL
  I decide to do a shadowbox. The theme for this was snowman. I had to really think about it because my partner lives in Florida and I know they don't have snowmen there.  So I decide to go with "things that people do in winter." I had such a great time figuring out what I wanted to do for each little box. First I covered all the boxes with paper and tied them together with tissue tape. (I learned this at a Tim Holtz class I went to). Starting at the top left. I added skis, a sled and ice skates.  Next is a tree and a deer(winter to lots of people) Top right is a glass dome filled with Aruba shells and sand( for her home state of Florida). Next is a basket filled with greens and berries next to a bottle of snow. Of course I had to have a snowman!!! The box to the right is games. who doesn't play games in the winter. I added dice, domino,  puzzle piece, monopoly house and bingo things(10-5 for her birthday) Bottom left is for Christmas with a wreath, bulb and decorations. Center box has 2 red birds on tree branches. (Reminds me of winter) The last box is for New Years with a bottle and a fancy drink!!!!! I added feet and a few snowflakes and then added a small amount of spray snow to finish it off.

Hello!!!!!!

I really was going to keep up with my blog but I just seem to forget all about it. I was in a few swaps around the holidays, we went to Nashville in early Dec, Costa Rica in Jan and all this snow is driving me nuts!!!! DH and I have been on a puzzle kick recently also. I think we have done 8 of them in the last month.
First I will post a few pictures of Nashville and Costa Rica and then show you a few things I have  crafting.
We saw Rascal Flatts at the Ryman Auditorium, went Honkey Tonkin on Broadway, saw the King and Queen of Country music at the Hall of Fame and they even had Kelley Pickler's dress she wore when she won  the Mirrorball trophy on Dancing with the Stars. A great time for sure. we will return someday.

We went on our January group trip to Costa Rica. I ended up sick for 4 days but we made the best of it. We managed to get off the resort and go on a riverboat ride where we saw iguanas. crocodiles and monkeys. The view from our room was beautiful!!!!!

 

Time sure has a way of slipping right by!!!!! September is almost over. WOW!!!!

 I have been busy doing some Fall cleaning and haven't done much crafting recently.
I did however join a Halloween partner swap. I am not really into Halloween but thought I should try it anyway.
I made an accordion mini album in a tin , a Halloween layout and some pumpkin jars.
I just added a few mats and some embellies to the mini.

 For the layout, I used the Artbooking cartridge for the spiders, the web and the photo mat. I used stickles on the web, added google eyes on the spiders, popped them up and hung them with floss. I also used some black embossing powder around the mat.

The pumpkins are jelly jars that I paint with orange and black features. When I went to apply the 2nd coat, it just peeled off the first.!!!! I finally got it to work after painting twice with Gesso!!! They look really cool with a  flickering tea light inside.

 

So that is the extent of my Halloween projects!!!!!!!

I am still working on things for the craft show in Dec and making Cards for Soldiers.

Christmas swaps are posted on the Cricut MB so I will be starting those soon.

 

Hubby and I will be going to Nashville soon!!!! We have never been and I especially am looking forward to it.  My Christmas present I think. :)
